FAQs

SWISHLIST - THE BASICS
1. How do I use Swishlist?

Rent It : Go through our catalogue of designer outfits, once you have found an outfit you love, choose your size, click on the date on which you want to wear your it, and the city you need the delivery in - hit Book Now and check out.

Rock It : The outfit will reach your door 2 days before you want to wear it,. That gives you plenty of time to try it on, accessorise and get ready for your big night so you look a million bucks! Please keep the return envelope and papers that you receive with the package.

Return It : The day after you've worn the outfit, just fold it and place it in the return envelope. We'll send our courier partner to your door to pick up the outfit. Please hand over the envelope as well as the return papers. And you're done!

2. What do we mean when we say...
WHEN WE SAY THIS MEANS
Event Date The day you want to wear your outfit
Receipt Date 2 days before your event – the day the outfit will reach your door
Return Date The day after your event, when our courier partner will come to your door to pick up the outfit
Rental Fee The total price you'll pay to keep the outfit for the entire rental period (from receipt date to return date)
Retail Price What you would pay for this outfit if you were to buy it. (Please note: Swishlist does not sell the outfits and this price is just for your information)
Wishlist You'll notice a little star next to each of the outfits in our catalogue – if you click on the star the outfit automatically gets added to your wishlist – which is like a personal memory bank of all the outfits you loved. All you need to do is click on 'wishlist' on the top of the page once you've signed in and all of your 'starred' outfits will be displayed. To make it easier to share what you love with your friends, the wishlist also has an easy 'email a friend' function.
Wear And Tear Regular damage to an outfit one would expect with a wear – a sequin or two falling off for example
Substantial Damage Significant damage above and beyond regular wear and tear – so this could be a stain that's not easy to remove or a tear
Major Loss The kind of damage that means we can no longer rent the outfit out and will need to replace it – like a large tear or stain which cannot be removed
Late Fee If you return your outfit one day after the Return Date we shall charge you a late fee of 25% of the rental fee. Thereafter, for every day that the outfit is late up till 14 days from the return date we shall charge you a daily late fee of 50% of the rental fee. At 16 days from the Return Date we shall charge you a final late fee of 150% of the retail value less any late charges you have already paid. Please refer to our return policy for more details.
Security Deposit A deposit equivalent to 50% of the rental fee if you check out using a Credit Card, or 100% of the rental fee if you check out using a Debit Card is charged when you rent an outfit. This deposit is returned to you in full as soon as your outfit is sent back to us in good condition on time. Any late fees or damage penalties are adjusted against this amount.
Express Delivery We typically take reservations a week in advance to ensure we get teh outfit to you well in advance, but if you do need an outfit at the last minute (next 2-7 days) you can put in a request for Express Delivery (available on each page Product details page) and we will get back to you very soon on whether we can get the outfit to you in time, depending on the availability of the pieces.
3. What is a 7 Day Rental?

If you need the outfit longer for a destination wedding or a holiday or any other reason, you have the option to book the outfit for a 7 day period. In this case you will receive the outfit 2 days before the date you book and it will be picked up 5 days after. You will be charged only 25% extra which will be adjusted against your security deposit at the time of return.

4. What is the security deposit? Why do I need to pay it?

Every time you rent an outfit you will be asked to pay a security deposit that is equal to 50% of the rental charge (if you are using a Credit Card to Check Out) or 100% of the rental charge (if you are using a Debit Card). So for example, if you are renting a top for Rs. 1000 (plus tax), we will add a security deposit of Rs. 500 to your bill (if using a Credit Card) or Rs 1000 (if using a Debit Card). This amount is just a security that we keep while you have the outfit and will be returned to you in full once the outfit is returned on time and in good condition.

5. What if I accidentally stain or damage the dress?

We know that you'll treat these gorgeous outfits with love and care and that routine wear and tear is unavoidable - we totally understand that. However if we find 'substantial damage' to the outfit or a stain that cannot be removed through our standard dry cleaning process we will need to charge you to repair the damage. The charge will depend on the nature of the damage and won't exceed Rs. 5000.

However, we may find that the damage is large enough that it results in a 'major loss' – which means we can no longer rent the outfit out due to it. In this case, we will levy an additional charge of up to 150% of the retail value of the product that was damaged. You can, however, keep the outfit given we can no longer rent it out.

6. What is the star next to each dress and what is My Wishlist?

You'll notice a little star next to each of the outfits in our catalogue – if you click on the star the outfit automatically gets added to your wishlist – which is like a personal memory bank of all the outfits you loved. All you need to do is click on 'wishlist' on the top of the page once you've signed in and all of your 'starred' outfits will be displayed. To make it easier to share what you love with your friends, the wishlist also has an easy 'email a friend' function.

7. Do I need to iron my outfit when it arrives?

Your outfit is professionally cleaned and ironed before it is sent to you so you shouldn't need to iron it. If you do find there are a few wrinkles in it, please steam the garment at low heat or hang it to shake the wrinkles out. Please do not iron at high heat as this will damage the outfit.

8. How do you clean the outfit before it arrives?

We work with our partners at Presto to ensure every outfit is clean and looks and smells fresh when it reaches you. We follow a thorough process with every outfit, checking at every stage as it is drycleaned, steam ironed and sent to you for your event. Don't worry, you're in good hands!

9. How do I make my payment?

Once you're ready to pay you will be redirected to a secure payment gateway page. Here, you'll need to enter your credit card or debit card information, and our partners at ICICI will process your payment for immediate charge. We accept Indian and international Mastercard and Visa cards. If you are having any trouble with your payment being processed, let us know at info@swishlist.in and we'll do our best to help you out. Please note, we do not store your credit card details on our site – these details are handled only by ICICI.

10. Can I pay in cash or in a bank transfer?

Unfortunately, we are only able to process payments through credit card and will not be able to accept cash on delivery or bank transfers. We accept Indian Mastercard and Visa cards through ICICI's payment gateway. If you are having any trouble with your payment being processed, let us know at info@swishlist.in and we'll do our best to help you out.

11. What does the additional 'agree to additional payment' tick box in the payment process mean?

When you process your payment with us, you'll be asked to grant us permission to levy additional payments as needed. Don't be scared – nothing fishy here! This is just a process that allows us to levy any additional fees in the rare circumstances of a late return or any damage to clothes as explained in our terms and conditions without coming back to you for your card details again. We will of course email you and inform you of any additional charges if they need to be levied – no nasty surprises. Please note, we do not store your credit card details on our site – these details are handled only by ICICI.

12. What if I need an outfit for a longer period?

We'll try our best to help! If you need an outfit urgently please click on the "Request Express Delivery" button available on each page. Enter your contact information, details of the outfit and the date you want to wear it. Our team will get back to you very soon on whether we can send the outfit to you on time, depending on availability.

THE RIGHT OUTFIT IN THE RIGHT SIZE
1. What's the best way to find the perfect outfit?

We've made sure our website is designed so at every step it's easy for you to find what you want. If you want a specific style (say a sari or an anarkali) you can use the 'Clothing' tab on our home page to go straight to a catalogue of outfits in that style. If you're clearer on the occasion you are shopping for, use our Occasion tab on the home page to go straight to a range of outfits perfect for a 'mehendi' or a 'night out' etc.

Once you're in our catalogue, the search filters can also help you narrow down the options. Simply use the panel on the left side of the catalogue to narrow the choices available on your date by size, designer, price or even colour. Click here to get into the catalogue and start browsing!

2. How do I make sure I'm getting the right size?

There's nothing worse than falling in love with an outfit only to find it doesn't fit. To avoid this problem, we've made detailed measurements available for every single outfit in our catalogue. Simple click on the coat hanger icon next to size on the product page, pull out your measuring tape and start comparing those numbers. We've also included any watch outs (outfits that run large or small, accentuate a certain body part etc.) in the detailed measurement section to help you determine if this is the outfit and size is for you.

If you have any additional measurements or size related questions that aren't answered in the detailed measurement section, please send us an email at info@swishlist.in and we'll get back to you with an answer and even pictures if you need them.

You can also email us if you're finding it hard to find anything in your size or if there's a specific outfit you wish we had in your size. We can't make any promises, but we'll see what we can do.

3. What if I still end up with an outfit that doesn't fit me?

Don't worry, we've got your back! If you send us an email between the time you receive the outfit and 11am the following day at info@swishlist.in letting us know the outfit doesn't fit, we'll send our courier to pick it up within the day and give you store credit for your rental fee less tax and delivery charges. For more details check out our terms and conditions.

4. The item I rented was shown with a top/bottoms but I only received the one item - why?

To make sure you get an accurate idea of what the top/skirt that you're renting will look like, we've paired some of them with blouses from our collection or sometimes even the model's own clothing, however these items are not for rent and are simply used to show you the outfit fully styled. When you see these outfits in the catalogue, you'll notice the titles include wording such as 'skirt only' in parentheses next to the title – please look out for these as they clearly spell out which item is for rent.

BOOKINGS AND CHANGES
1. So how long do I get to keep the outfit for?

The outfit you've chosen will reach you 2 days before your 'event date' and you'll need to return it the day after your event. So all up you'll have it for around 4 days depending on the time of delivery and pick up.
Day 1 – The outfit is delivered to your doorstep
Day 2 – Try it on and accesorize
Day 3 – Rock it at your event!
Day 4 – Put the outfit back in the packaging and have it ready for our courier to pick up at your door.

*Please note these timelines do not apply for Express Delivery Requests where we guarantee the outfit will reach you in time for your event.

2. What if I need the outfit for an extra day?

Destination weddings, parties out of town, travel you need to look fabulous for – we understand there are occasions for which you may need the outfit for more than 4 days. If this is your case, simply send us an email at info@swishlist.in and we'll do our best to help you out and figure out a special arrangement and rental fee just for you.

3. What if I change my mind after making the booking? Can I cancel?

So if you have a case of 'mmm… was that a good idea?' within 24 hours of placing your order, don't worry at all. Just send us an email at info@swishlist.in within 24 hours and if we haven't already shipped your order we'll issue you a store credit for your entire rental fee. We'll return your security deposit as well of course. What if it's been more than 24 hours? It's as simple as the options below:

  • You email us to cancel your order 30 days or more before the scheduled delivery date – we'll issue you store credit for 100% of your rental fee, and of course we'll return your security deposit as well.
  • You email us to cancel your order between 10-30 days before the scheduled delivery date – we'll issue you store credit for 80% of your rental fee, and of course we'll return your security deposit as well.
  • You email us to cancel your order 10 days or less before the scheduled delivery date – unfortunately we won't be able to refund any of your rental charge at this point. We will however return your security deposit in full.
4. What if I want to change the dates for my order?

We can't guarantee your outfit will be available at the new dates but if you send us an email at info@swishlist.in we'll see what we can do to help you out.

DELIVERY & RETURNS
1. What time will my outfit reach me?

We deliver through our courier partners from Monday - Saturday between 8am and 10pm. If you'd like to receive your order in a particular time slot simply email us at info@swishlist.in and we will try and ensure that it happens in that period.

When you're picking your address for delivery (home/office/etc.) please make sure you're picking an address that you or someone on your behalf will be present at between these hours on both the pick up and drop off day.

2. Can I get my outfit picked up from a different address?

On the website you'll need to enter the same address for drop off and pick up as this is our standard process. That being said, at Swishlist there's very little we won't do to make your experience awesome. So if you need a pick up from a different address, just drop us a line at info@swishlist.in and we'll see what we can do to help out.

3. How do I return my outfit?

In great condition and on time of course ☺ So seriously, your outfit will either come in a box or an envelope. Either way, there will be a fresh envelope inside this package for you to simply pop the outfit into when you are done. You will also see a docket with some papers in the original packaging. Just hand these over to the Fedex team when they come to your doorstep to pick up the package. Make sure the box or envelope is sealed properly - it would be awful for the outfit to slip out in transit!
